Vivo on Tuesday showcased the V5 smartphone with a 20-megapixel camera in the front in the Indian market at Rs. 17,980. The new smartphone offers a bunch of front camera features that will delight all selfie lovers in the country, such as a LED flash in front and filters and software enhancements aimed at making your selfies shine.

However, Vivo V5 is not the only selfie-focussed smartphone you can buy under Rs. 18,000. Oppo and Gionee already have their selfie phones – Oppo F1s (Rs. 17,990) and Gionee S6s (Rs. 17,999), respectively – in the market, with features similar to the ones that the Vivo V5 offers. There are subtle differences of course, but making the final buying decision is quite difficult considering how similar the three smartphones are.

For starters, all the smartphones have metal bodies, lending a premium feel to the design; the trio is quite similar in size too. Screen size, connectivity features, battery capacity, and other major features of the Vivo V5, Oppo F1s (Review), Gionee S6s (Review) look comparable too at first glance.

But a closer look reveals the differences. While the Vivo V5 and Gionee S6s sport LED flash in front, Oppo F1s does not. Similarly, the Gionee smartphone has full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) screen resolution, whereas Vivo and Oppo smartphones sport just HD (720x1280 pixel) displays.
