Samsung Digital Academy was launched in Hyderabad on Wednesday to impart skills in new technologies to students of engineering colleges in Telangana.

The academy has conceptualised the course curriculum for easy comprehension for a beginner in application development. The youth will be trained in Tizen OS platform including Application Development Process, Testing and Debugging, Device Application Program Interface (APIs) as well as Packaging and Installation of Designed Applications on various devices.

The academy has come as part of the ongoing skilling partnership between Samsung India and Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge (TASK), under the state government.

Telangana's Principal Secretary, Information Technology, Electronic and Industries, Jayesh Ranjan, who inaugurated the academy, stressed the need for youth to be skilled on new technologies that will help them in seeking more avenues in the current dynamic changing IT world. He said a course on TIZEN operating system is one such opportunity.

Faculty orientation programme was held at the newly inaugurated lab for faculty from various engineering colleges in Telangana by the Samsung technical experts.

TASK's CEO Sujiv Nair said the youth who complete this course will be part of an exciting, new era in smart devices that will shape the future and improve their employability.

Samsung's Bengaluru-based R&D Institute's Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer Aloknath De said: "The course on Tizen would enable future and potential developers to use their app programming skills to develop quality apps and be part of Tizen app eco system. India is increasingly emerging as a key player in the development of next-generation technology ecosystems and Telangana is surely the destination for skill development mission from a digital perspective."
